Not to make light of this ebola outbreak – the World Health Organization estimates that 1,350 have died and 2,473 people have been infected since it was identified in March of this year. But here’s some good news; Dr. Kent Brantly, the man who was infected with Ebola treating patients in Africa, has recovered and is due to be released today. Brantly, a 33-year-old Texas native, was treated with an experimental drug called ZMapp. He and Nancy Writebol, 59, of Serving in Mission, contracted the deadly disease while doing missionary work at a clinic in the West African nation of Liberia. (Writebol is also released and doing well, btw.) I know you have eyes, so you can see that ON TOP of being a doctor, he’s also pretty good looking…. not that it matters. But if you’re casting, it does. So, who should play him in the Lifetime TV movie? (This production has not been announced, I’m just getting out in front of the story, as they say) I think they need to be ginger, so this narrows the options in Hollywood considerably. I vote Rome‘s Kevin McKidd or Homeland‘s Damian Lewis, pictured. Hey, Tweet me if you’ve got a better casting idea. @treynyc (Aaron Paul!)
