“You’re the last person I will love / You’re the last face I will recall / And best of all / I’m not gonna miss you,” sings country music legend Glen Campbell in his last recording. The ballad’s lyrics detail his struggle with Alzheimer’s while the video shows us real footage of a doctor showing Campbell X-rays of his brain, detailing how the disease will eat away at his memories, juxtaposed with personal home videos and images from his 50+ years in show business.

Via Rolling Stone:

“I’m Not Gonna Miss You” was penned specifically for the upcoming documentary Glen Campbell: I’ll Be Me, which opens in New York on October 24th with a wide release to follow. The film features interviews with Bruce Springsteen, Bill Clinton, U2‘s The Edge, Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift and many more discussing Campbell’s impact. Campbell was first diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2011. The disease has progressed to the point where the Country Music Hall of Fame member was admitted to a special care facility in Nashville in April 2014.

“Sadly, Glen’s condition has progressed enough that we were no longer able to keep him at home,” Campbell’s family wrote in a statement to Rolling Stone. “He is getting fantastic care and we get to see him every day. Our family wants to thank everyone for their continued prayers, love and support.”
