After TMZ broke the news last week that Here Comes Honey Boo Boo‘s Mama June was dating a convicted child molester, Mark McDaniel, Anna Shannon Cardwell, June’s eldest daughter (known as “Chickadee”), stepped forward as the victim. McDaniels and Mama June were also dating in 2002, at the time of the reported molestation when Cardwell was 8 years old. Cardwell said in an interview with Radar Online;
“I believe she is seeing him and hanging around him. I’m hurt. I think me and Mama’s relationship may well be over.”
The scandal has already cost the family their show, but now June could stand to lose custody of her three daughters, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, 14, Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon, 17, and Alana, according Susan Boatwright, a representative of Georgia’s Division of Family and Child Services;
“Generally speaking, when we receive a report that children are living around a sex offender … it would certainly rise to the level of concern of us looking into it.”
I ran into an old friend this weekend and this subject came up. She had done a job styling for Mama June at one point and did NOT have very nice things to say about her… and she’s worked with a LOT of celebs and isn’t one to trash anyone without cause. While working together in a hotel room, Mama June ask my stylist friend, “Have you done this before?” to which she responded, “…oh, just 25 years.” June also asked what happened to the clothes she didn’t wear. “With the tags still on, they get returned,” she was told. After my friend returned from getting 4X knee-high hose (June wouldn’t wear pantyhose) she discovered half of the outfits to be sent back had the tags torn off and were on top of June’s luggage. This is what is called being a “tacky pig”, which has nothing to do with what the scales might say. But it pales in comparison to “dating” a convicted child molester – OF YOUR OWN DAUGHTER! I’m sorry, this is NEXT LEVEL white trash.
