I was talking with my lovely friend last night about being conscious in the banality of day to day living. The practice of mindfulness and ease in each moment. And she said something that has completely captivated me.
She said, “Being awake in the architecture”. It is a funny statement. Deceptively simple and easily dismissed. Like most good aphorisms, you have to twist it like a Rubiks cube to solve its puzzle. There are three important and evocative words used here, and your own personal understanding of each word releases the meaning, like a great wine breathing and mellowing, becoming more fulsome with your patience and appreciation. I love my language. Every word is a gateway to a larger world and understanding. String them together and the possibilities are endless.
