Dolce & Gabbana, the Italian, and btw GAY, designers have come out against gay marriage, artificial insemination and more. Since the news broke, it has created a firestorm across social media. Reacting to the news, Sir Elton John called for a Dolce & Gabbana boycott, writing:
“How dare you refer to my beautiful children as “synthetic”. And shame on you for wagging your judgemental little fingers at IVF – a miracle that has allowed legions of loving people, both straight and gay, to fulfil their dream of having children. Your archaic thinking is out of step with the times, just like your fashions. I shall never wear Dolce and Gabbana ever again. #BoycottDolceGabbana”
Gabbana responded directly on Sir Elton’s Instagram post, branding him a “fascist”, adding a hashtag to boycott the father of two. #boycotteltonjohn
Courtney Love echoed Elton’s call, stating that she wanted to “burn” any items she owned.
Gabbana first spoke of his views in 2006, stating:
“I am opposed to the idea of a child growing up with two gay parents. A child needs a mother and a father. I could not imagine my childhood without my mother. I also believe that it is cruel to take a baby away from its mother.”
Not only are their views stupid and outmoded, this is a BAD business decision and sales are bound to plummet… watch, department stores will start to cancel fall orders. Although who ever bought their tacky crap in the first place, I can’t say? A big cash-cow was likely their fragrances, where sales are sure to stink too. Certainly no self-respecting homo will ever admit to wearing D&G NOW!
