Pizza Hut has created a new cardboard pizza box that turns into a working movie projector powered by your smartphone. Called the “Blockbuster Box,” it was designed by Ogilvy Hong Kong and the secret to it the special pizza “table” that comes inside. The traditional little “Barbie Table” always kept the center of the box from touching your pizza and this new version features a lens as part of the design. You insert into the side of the box after you punch out the pre-perforated hole. Once the lens is inserted, you power the “projector” with your phone, placing in the center of the box, the lens magnifies the screen display and projects it onto the wall.
If you don’t have Netflix, there’s a QR code printed on the box to scan to download a free movie. There are four different styles;
Fully Loaded, for action movies
Slice Night, for scary movies
Hot & Ready, for romance
Anchovy Armageddon, for you sci-fi fans
You’d probably want to have a Bluetooth speaker too, if you actually want to actually hear the movie, since your smartphone will be inside the box. Der. But not to worry, it’s only available in Hong Kong at the moment. But really, it’s a great idea and you can find out how to build your own by going here here. This is either really brilliant or THE dumbest thing I’ve ever posted…?
