Dammit. I really wish I could tell you that Netflix was releasing Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp now for your 4th of July weekend – but the limited 8-episode series comes out on July 31. If this trailer is any indication, you DO have something to look forward to, though. If you thought you’d be seeing what happened to the campers after they were all grown up, think again. Instead, it’s the first day of camp in this prequel series to the 2001 cult classic. Kids, this is THE oldest group of teenagers EVER. At Camp Firewood in WHAS we saw the last day of summer, now we discover the events that made these kids the goof-balls they became. All of the original cast is back –yes, even Bradley Cooper who was reportedly only on set one day. They’re joined by tons of new stars like Jon Hamm, Kristen Wiig, John Slattery, Weird Al Yankovic and more. Myself, I cannot wait. Watch.
