NYC superstar drag performer Elizabeth James (a mash-up of Elizabeth Taylor and James Dean) is one of the most talked about and adored queens on the scene right now. She’s booked constantly, and always turns the crowd out…giving fab dance moves, face, and ALWAYS a friendly smile. Her latest project is a series of videos shot by Richert Schnorr, the first being Same Mistakes, soundtracked by indie pop band The Echo Friendly. It’s inspired by some of James’ icons…Madonna’s “Rain”, “Freedom” by George Michael…and a dash of the delusional Norma Desmond character in the 1950s Sunset Boulevard film…and she looks uber sickening in EVERY frame!
“This video is about my personal experience with the demons of night life. Moving to NYC three years ago, I was so excited to be a part of everything! However, when the taste of vodka and the smell of cocaine changed from ‘Oh fun to oh fuck’, I realized I had to grow up and get my head back in the game. When RuPaul said, ‘You want to be a star, well stars work’ I listened, and went back to work.”
If you’re in NYC, catch Elizabeth James at The Elizabeth James Show on Thursdays, and her cabaret show at the iconic West Village Duplex on Sundays with Ruby Roo.
