James Yates and William Smith, Jr. sued Kim Davis for being refused a marriage license SIX TIMES since July. They also asked the Rowan County Attorney to file a charge of official misconduct against Davis. Yesterday, just after 8:00 AM, the couple, together nine years, finally were able to obtain a marriage license, becoming the first couple — same-sex or different-sex — to do so in Rowan County since the Supreme Court ruled same-sex couples have a civil right to marriage. Kinda makes you teary, huh? Couldn’t be happier for these two. So is Twitter.
