When I first heard that Chance the Rapper sang a rendition of “Arthur’s theme” at the Sasquatch! Music Festival in Portland, I got all misty-eyed and thought of the great Christopher Cross songs of my youth – “Think of Laura,” “Sailing,” “Ride Like the Wind” and whatnot– I was a bit of a wussy, you know. Loved that stuff. Listened to it and cried like a girl thinking of Joe Battaglia in my French class and how he’d never love me. Sigh. So, yeah, of course I’d LOVE to hear a new version of “Arthur’s Theme”! Then my hopes were dashed. Turns out the “Arthur’s Theme” he sang wasn’t the one about the charmingly befuddled alcoholic, it’s about the cartoon mouse/rabbit/aardvark/wtf from PBS which I know absolutely nothing about because I’m old and grew up in the ’70s. But here you go. I’m posting it anyway because all the millennials in the audience seem to be really grooving on it, so I guess it means something to THEM. (via WeTheUrban)
