Forget Scrooge! Screw the Grinch! Christmas has a NEW ill-tempered anti-hero: Internet-meme-turned-billionaire-multi-hyphenate GRUMPY CAT! Yes! The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that the frowning feline is getting his own Lifetime movie, Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever. The network says the show – about a perpetually overlooked pet-store cat and the 12-year-old girl who can communicate with it telepathically (OMG I AM SO THERE) – is ”a little Home Alone and a little Die Hard,” and would also feature cameos from other famous Internet memes.
Lifetime is casting the voice of Grumpy for the live-action project. I’m thinking Brad Garrett. Or – oh! oh! –what about Season 10 American Idol winner Scotty McCreery? Or, hey, I’m sure the guy who used to voice Garfield needs work, and who’s gonna notice?
Wait. Is Grumpy Cat even a guy? For someone who spends nine hours a day on the internet, I know surprisingly little about Grumpy Cat.
