Help me, Mommy. The mucho macabre, relentlessly grotesque, and frequently repulsive sculptures of Olivier de Sagazan will leave you with a creeping sort of dread.

Behold the tragic and twisted creatures living inside the mind of Congo-born, France-based artist Olivier de Sagazan. Primal and deliciously elemental – they’re like the totems of a primitive serial killer. He describe them as “animalistic humans seeking to break away from the physical world.” I describe them as the stuff of nightmares.

But, oh, to have him decorate your home. Can you IMAGINE? Of course, there would be no k-holes with THESE guys around.

From his web site:

For more than 20 years, Olivier de Sagazan has developed a hybrid practice that integrates painting, photography, sculpture, and performance.  At once disquieting and deeply moving, this new body of work collapses the boundaries between the physical, intellectual, spiritual and animalistic senses. The artist states: “I am interested in seeing to what degree people think its normal, or even trite, to be alive.”
