Fascinating stuff. Back in 1993, legendary wildman/author/poet Charles Bukowski spoke very candidly about his writing process during the recording of Run With the Hunted. That conversation has been animated by artist Drew Christie for the inaugural episode of Quoted‘s animated literary series for Harper Collins. Watch it after the jump.

Said the poet laureate of skid row:
You know what I’m interested in? What I’m going to type tomorrow night. That’s all that interests me. The next poem, the next fucking line. What’s past is past, I don’t linger over it, read it, play with it, jolly it up… It’s gone, it’s done. If you can’t write the next line well you’re dead.
Words to live by. (via The Laughing Squid)
