To combat the dreaded pink slime rumors, McDonald’s has released some perky propaganda videos to show that their french fries come from, gasp, actual potatoes! Mythbusters‘ Grant Imahara is the (obviously) hired spokesperson for the campaign, who takes a look at the process from start to finish.
In the first video we backtrack from the point of being served to the actual digging of the potato. In the second video, Imahara walks us through the 19 different ingredients used in a McDonald’s french fry. Yes, 19. But don’t worry. THEY’RE ALL TOTALLY COOL CHEMICALS THAT YOUR BODY IS TOTALLY FINE WITH.
