Earlier this month, I posted the new Tiffany ad featuring the first gay couple in the company’s history, but at the time, the couple’s names were unknown. Now, they both been outed, so to speak and are responding to the ad. New York City-based fashion executive Thomas Trube Bourne, 44, (they’ve taken each other’s last names) married model, dancer and SoulCycle instructor Eric Trube Bourne, 29, last May and Eric told Daily Mail Online:

“I was a bit overwhelmed seeing our faces on every TV channel. We never expected this. It was just a fun thing we did. Now having details about ourselves and our relationship in the public is very exposing and freeing at the same time. In fact, even the timing was something of a surprise. The ad was leaked early so the actual campaign has not been released yet.”

Eric reveals that they both landed a meeting with Tiffany & Co’s casting director through his modeling agent:

“They asked us about our relationship, how we got engaged and we got the job. I think that’s what makes this so special. The campaign is all about the nontraditional marriage and how love and marriage follows its own journey. To be part of that is really exciting.”

The photo taken by Peter Lindbergh, shows the two men smiling, arms interlinked. The fact that Thomas and Peter were a real couple is what made the campaign click. That and the fact that both great looking. There are lots of gay couples out there but these guys fit the demographic; handsome, fit and upscale. So, they don’t exactly break ground in terms of being unconventional. But a real gay couple for the premier American jewelry company? We’ll take it. The ad copy reads:

“Will you promise to never stop completing my sentences or singing off-key, which I’m afraid you do often? And will you let today be the first sentence of one long story that never, ever ends?”

No matter who you are or what you look like, that’s what most everyone wants, huh? Condragulations, Gentlemen!
