Ansel Elgort grew up the son of a famous fashion photographer, Arthur Elgort and an opera director Mom who made him take ballet lessons when he said he wanted to be on Broadway. The first magazine I ever worked for in New York, Vogue, his Dad shot for, and my old boss at Vanity Fairis one of his Dad’s oldest friends, legendary art director, Ruth Ansel. Wonder where he got his unusual first name? Well, not from Ruth. Arthur named his youngest child after famed nature photographer, Ansel Adams. At just 20 now, the show tune–belting, basketball-playing, brother of two is one of Hollywood’s hottest —and most self-effacing—dudes. Talk about a natural-born talent. Just LOOK at how comfortable this handsome young man is in front of a camera… that face has movie star written all over it. You’ll see it on the big screen next in Insurgent, the follow-up to Divergent that he starred in with his Fault In Our Stars co-star, Shailene Woodley.
