OHEMMGEE!!! This is a drop the mic moment for sure! Two of my fave queens, Lady Gaga and Tom Ford just SLAYED this super awesome video for Tom Ford’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection. Inspired by disco and 70s dance show Soul Train, fashion uber god/director Nick Knight has Gaga dancing down the Soul Train line in Ford’s latest collection, flanked by equally groovy models. And if that’s not enough, Gaga apparently has a new track coming out too! The video is soundtracked by a cover version of Chic’s 1978 hit song I Want Your Love, featuring original band member Nile Rodgers, and Lady Gaga on vocals. THIS BETTER COME OUT AS A SINGLE!!!
“Instead of having a traditional show this season, I wanted to think about how to present a collection in a cinematic way that was designed from its inception to be presented online. I have always loved Soul Train which used to be on TV in the Seventies; as it was as much about the clothes as the music, I asked Nile Rodgers to collaborate on a new version of one of his great hits from that time, ‘I Want Your Love,’ and worked with Gaga to record the vocals. I then staged a full show in Los Angeles and filmed it with Gaga on the runway.”
